We are currently registering for our Cheer program and are looking for a Cheer Director, Squad coaches at each divisional level (Tiny Mite, Mighty Mite etc) and cheer participants. KPPW is happy to help train a novice or welcomes a seasoned leader. We NOW have an online registration category similar to the one for football! Just click on the REGISTRATION tab.
Please indicate your interest as you sign up if you are willing and able to help with this new program. Or, you can send us an email under the “Contact Us” tab on our website.
KPPW is an all volunteer organization including our Board of Directors!! There are NO paid positions.
Complete Cheer uniform (pants, top, shoes and pommes) are included in the registration fee of $200. You may split the fee into two payments during online registration. You can also request a “Scratch Card Fundraiser” packet to self fundraise up to $100 of the fee (the card costs $20). Click on the “Fundraising” tab on the KPPW website.
Your child must have a physical exam completed on the official Pop Warner form (hyperlink), a 4th quarter report card, and a copy of their official birth certificate (we need to see the original to verify the copy) to participate.
We are trying to form a Kenai team but if there are not enough participants your child may need to travel to Soldotna for practice/games. See our refund policy here (hyperlink)
Opening Day/First Practice is scheduled for Sunday, July 25, 2010. Most games are played on Sundays due to the High Schools use their fields on Fridays and Saturdays.
Cheer Squads will be invited to travel to Anchorage, Eagle River and Homer with their football teams for away games. Parents are responsible for transportation and many opportunities to “share a ride” are available.
Participation in the Pop Warner Spirit Program provides kids an opportunity to perform in an organized, supervised, safety oriented environment. Pop Warner programs emphasize fun for all and encourage the development of qualities such as spirit, character and teamwork.
Good Luck and Have a Great 2010 Season!
